About Me
Who I am
I am easy to talk to and get along with, but I am also a great listener. I love working on teams, because I value when everyone gives their input to help create robust solutions. I am hard-working, but not afraid to ask for help when I need it, and I enjoy learning new things whenever I can. In my personal life, I love to take road trips, visit new places, and spend time with my family. I am kept constantly occupied by my girlfriend, Hannah, and our chocolate lab puppy, Remmy.
Education
I graduated from Iowa State University in May of 2020 with a bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering. I finished with a 3.27 grade point average, and a variety of skills in mathematics, physics, communications, design, programming, leadership, and more. I held the same on-campus job for 3 of my years at Iowa State, and I also made some life-long friends and memories!
Work Experience
For three of my four years of college, I worked on-campus in the Department of Residence, as a student helper for their Health and Safety Department. During my time, I was promoted to student lead for the exceptional benefit I was able to provide my department. My boss also nominated me for student employee of the year, where I went on to become a finalist. Pictured to the right is me accepting that award with Iowa State's president, Dr. Wendy Wintersteen.
As student lead for Residence Health and Safety at ISU, I would work on the same project for months at a time, or do something different every day. For example, I manually tracked all the hundreds fire extinguishers in residence halls every month to ensure they were up-to-date and charged, and replacing any that weren't safe. Over the summers, I led a team of 10 student employees to clean and test the fire safety systems of each residence hall, ensuring the safety of thousands of students living in the dorms. I also led a team to test and map the fire systems at the Memorial Union for use in upcoming renovations, and mapped fire sprinkler systems in all residence halls for use in intermittent testing. I was entrusted not only with sets of keys that had access to the entirety of residence halls and would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to replace, but I was also trusted to work independently and complete tasks without frequent check-ins.
Since graduating, I have been working as a driver for services like Uber and Uber Eats, where I am also able to work independently to complete tasks.
